April 29th, 2023 will mark the 7th Annual Enter Sandbag Challenge. Once again we’ll be throwing down in the sand to raise money for injured Veterans from ALL branches of the US Military. This year, we’ll be doing with the biggest field yet, with over 30 teams expected to run. Over the past seven years the event has raised over $150k for the Semper Fi & America’s Fund and we are very excited to build on that number.

The event is team based, meant to be a true challenge of physical fitness and will for all those brave enough to compete. It serves as a reminder of the hard work and sacrifice the men and women of our military regularly endure. The added weight of the sandbag is nod to the weight, both figurative and literal, that those in the Armed Forces continuously bear on our behalf. Finally, the team aspect is representative of relying on those next to us to accomplish greater things together.

The Workout:
150 Burpees
Run 1 mile
150 Pushups
Run 1 mile
250 Squats
Run 1 mile
100 Sandbag Get-ups
Run 1 mile

The challenge will be performed in teams of 2. Each team will have one 35lb sandbag that cannot be put down for the duration of the event. Teammates can divide the work however they want, but only one member can be working at a time. The teams must complete the runs together, and their time will not stop until both teammates cross the finish line. With the exception of the burpees, the individual performing the exercise will be the one holding the sandbag. If the sandbag touches the ground at any time, the team must stop in place and complete 20 burpees.
