Spartan Trail

Classic trail running, no obstacles, many distances. Each race takes place on beautiful, rugged trails around the world. Spartan also hosts the Spartan Trail World Championship series, with some of trail running’s most iconic events and athletes.

Spartan has done a big jump into the trail running scene through Spartan Trail, creating and partnering with world class events for an outstanding experience.

From challenging, interesting and touristic aimed races for those who chose to defy themselves every day, to assembling a World Championship with the biggest prize purse in major events for Elite runners, growing the trail running community and sharing the soul of the sport is the main goal of our company.

Located on the west bank of the Hudson River just an hour outside New York City, Bear Mountain State Park is home to an endless network of trails connecting streams, lakes, and minor peaks.

All types of terrain can be found here, but racers should expect to face short, punchy climbs and extremely technical sections.

The elevation profile suggests a speedy course, but the rugged terrain will challenge racers of all abilities. Most of the route passes through dense forest, but some of the higher points offer great views of the surrounding area.
