GORUCK Tactical Level 2 – Tactical Shotgun Operator

Your start point will be posted to this page and emailed to you at least one week before the event date.

Tactical Shotgun Operator is the ultimate opportunity to master your shotgun and test its limits. This event kicks off with safety procedures, weapon familiarization, and dry fire. Participants will learn how to engage man sized targets at distance using slugs, then quickly swapping ammo on the move for 00 buck at close range. Firing from cover, ammo swapping, weapon transitions, and movement will all be extensively covered, while building operator confidence for the final qualification shoot.

Unique to the Tactical Shotgun Operator event, participants will have to pass a standardized qualification shoot with a score of 70% to earn their GORUCK Tactical Shotgun Operator patch. Following qualification there will be an “introduction to breaching” block of instruction where students will have the opportunity to breach hollow core doors, dead bolts, tumblers, and hinges with the use of breaching ammunition.

Tactical Shotgun Operator is an advanced shotgun course and not recommended for beginners. We recommend taking Counter Activer Shooter Rifle prior to Breacher.

Due to the space and safety requirements needed to conduct these events the ranges may be up to a two hour drive from the city listed. Please keep this in mind when making lodging arrangements.

The duration of this course runs 8-10 hours.

All GORUCK Firearms Courses and Events utilize scenario based training which is incorporated into dry practice prior to any live fire. All participants will practice target identification and discrimination, movement, weapons manipulation, and other dynamic drills with the cadre and others. These drills will be facilitated with inert weapons enabling a safe and realistic training environment. Both pistols and rifles will be rendered inert with barrel/chamber blocking plugs. Further, each student must fully participate in dry practice prior to commencing live fire.
