Shinshiro Spartan Trail Classic 21K / 50MI
Shinshiro City, Aichi Prefecture, where the race will be held this time, is famous for the history of the Japanese war in which the Oda-Tokugawa forces and the Takeda forces fought over Mikawa Kuni Nagashino Castle on June 19, 1575.
It is very emotional to run the trail here because of the historical background that one of the warlords actually made a round trip of over 130km to Okazaki City to send reinforcement forces, and that led to the victory in the battle. At an altitude of 695m, “Sacred Peak Horaijiyama” rises, and there are many historical places related to a very famous Shogun, Ieyasu Tokugawa, such as Horaiji Temple, Toshogu Shrine, and Nagashino Castle. In addition, it is a treasure trove of nature as the 64m-long “Atera no Nanataki”, which has been designated as one of the 100 best waterfalls in Japan, and the “Chiiwakyo”, a gorge with various large and small caves and amazing huge rocks.
The features of this trail course held in Shinshiro City are a variety of courses such as ups and downs of hard bedrock, a single track along a mountain stream surrounded by fern leaves, and a ridge-line trail with a spectacular 360-degree view. It attracts trail runners nationwide. For this race, we have carefully selected the most rewarding courses on the Shinshiro Trail. It will surely be a race that will satisfy all runners.
